Played in the Super Monday last night on Party, came back from 270 chips to cash (finished around 60th)... when I looked this morning at who won, I was a bit surprised.
At bubble time, a player that had picked on my blinds a lot raised on the button and the player in the SB cold called 1200 of his remaining 2800 chips. I had AcTc in the BB and decided to jam. To my surprise, not only did the button fold but the SB folded too! He's getting almost 4:1 to call and has already put 1200 of his 2800 chips in! I'm not even sure my jam was a good play, but when you look at his fold, I guess it couldn't have been too bad! Eventually the guy goes on a huge rush and wins the tourney and $35k. Here is the hand :

Nothing much...
Not a ton to report from the last few days. On Monday I got rakeback for July... always nice to pick up $1800 in found money. I played some 15/30 and won a few hundred and then entered a bunch of tournaments. $150 on Party, Stars and Pacific and the $20 rebuy on Stars and Pokerroom. Pacific got cancelled (but they refunded more than I paid, so I made about $60 or $70)... Party I never got ANY cards and open raised two pots, both times I ran into aces. The first time I folded, the second time I open pushed. Stars went pretty well... I had a nice stack early and was never really in danger of busting until we got close to the money. I didn't have to survive ANY all-ins and finished 15th. I survived many open pushes when I didn't have a strong hand but no one ever woke up with a hand (or played too tight). Once, just after getting in the money someone pushed into my BB and I woke up with KK and I had him just barely out-chipped. In short, satisfying to have played what I consider a strong tournament but disappointing to finish a few off the final table. On Pokerroom, I got hit in the face with the deck after the rebuy period and people consistently made horrible plays against me. I had HUGE equity when calling all-ins and built my stack consistently and became early chip leader. One the blinds got huge, I slowed down a bit... but with 20 players left I was in second or third, until... Someone raised my BB and I just called with QQ. The flop came garbage and I check-raised all in and the other person turned up AK and hit a K on the turn. A few hands later someone opened for a huge bet, like 4xBB and i was sitting again in the BB with about 13 BB's and AK. I jammed, he turned up queens, and flopped quads. I'm out 19th or something ... extremely frustrating to have played so well and watch it all go down in two hands.
Because I was up late I also entered the $35+3 double shootout on Stars for the $2500 main event of the WCOOP. I flat out owned the first table but nothing went right at the final table and I finished 8th for $7. Yuk.
Last night I played in the Pacific freeroll ($50k), presumabely I was allowed to play it because of the cancellation from Monday night. I decided to just call with KK after a preflop raise and got it all in against AQ after the Q high flop and lost. I also entered a $130+9 SNG on Stars for a $1050 seat. I think this is the biggest $ SNG I've ever played. Anyway, on the second hand I limped behind two limpers with 9To. The flop was KJ7 and there was a min bet and a raise to $80. I saw implied odds so I cold called. The min bettor folded and the Q came off on the turn. I managed to get it all in against KJ and doubled up (and busted him). I eventually got another player in with AJ vs A9 but the river was a 9 and four handed I ran KK into AA and busted. Nice luck there, lol. I ended up winning for the night when I played a little 15/30 short handed on full tilt. I have played this game twice and after 80,000 hands of 10/20 short handed I feel pretty comfortable. This game seemed SO passive compared to Party both times I've played it.

Back on Track...
Played in all of the big tourneys today (except Paradise).
Busted pretty early on Stars, calling all in with a straight draw against top pair... Party I busted early also, raising from the button with AJ and then calling the BB's jam (he had AQ). On Interpoker I lasted about 30 spots from the money and went broke with TT vs QQ. Had a lot of chips for awhile but didn't win the big pot late... Also didn't do anything on Eurobet's $100.
On Pacific's $100k I ended up 12th for $1000. I open pushed with 6 BB's with T7 and ran into QQ. So it goes. I never got my stack to the point where I could open a lot of pots, and never got a good re-stealing opportunity... On Full Tilt I finished 7th for about $1800...Again, I lost half of my stack instantly, and never had any chips until we got down to about 50 players. I maintained my stack pretty well but finally got short with about 12 players left ... and went broke with 66 utg at the final table (bb had jacks).
But a pretty damn good weekend overall.

Woooooohooooooo
Two cool things have happened in the past 24 hours... I won a WCOOP main event seat last night on Stars in the $30 Rebuy and today I won the $150+12 on Party for $13,125.
Backtracking a bit, on Thursday night I entered a few tournaments in the evening and cashed in three...but I was looking to go deep in all of them. In the Full Tilt $100, I had a big chip lead with 25 left, lost a small pot with AA vs KK and then lost a HUGE pot with AK vs JJ and de-railed a bit eventually pushing 55 into 66... I ended up 10th. (10th place money SUCKS). On Pacific in the $30, I had a really nice stack going with 40 people left but got aggressive in the BB when the SB opened, I decided to push with A7. SB had kings and made quads.
In the Bodog $25+2, I again was the chip leader as we entered the money (winning a few coin flips and getting lucky along the way) and then I fell a bit card dead at the end, made one bad call and a really bad push at the end to finish me off.
Last night I entered the $200+15 on Party and got it in with QQ vs 99 on a raggedy flop and lost to a river 9. I played two satellites on Pokerroom and lost them both...but the $30 Rebuy for the $2500+100 seat I really caught some cards. A lot of big pairs, and I won a race with TT vs AQ on a 234 flop ... then a big one with JJ vs AT and QQ vs JJ. I got to the final table in second, way ahead with one other guy (they were paying two seats and third only got $165)... I made a poor re-raise with ATo and committed myself against a guy who wound up with QQ. The flop was AAx but the river was a Q and instead of $100k and almost a guarantee to qualify, I ended up with $50k. But the other big stack increased his stack and when we were about 5 handed he picked them off one by one for me. Once with KT vs AQ, once with 29 against A4 and the final hand was really interesting... I am in the BB with 28k, SB has 14k. Blinds probably 1/2. Big stack open limps on the button (I have not seen this from him before), SB completes, and I have TT. This is an interesting dilemma, as I'm pretty sure I have the best hand, but the big stack is ALWAYS calling, so I decided to see a flop. The flop was K23 and it was checked around. The turn was a 4 and the SB bet and I folded and the button called. The river was a blank and the SB bet again, the button pushed, and the SB called. AK for the button, K9 for the SB and I had a seat!
In the $150+12 I never had any chips until the final couple of tables. I pushed a lot with air and never got called, finally pushed for about 7000 with blinds 750/1500 and busted JJ. After that I won with 99 vs KQ to put me in the top four with about 15 left. When we were on the bubble, a tight player raised my BB and I decided to push with 89. He insta-called with AQ but I flopped a 9 and busted him... at the final table of 10 I was in second!
A couple of unfortunate things then happened. I was raising a bunch, and getting great cards... and a player opened, and I pushed in behind with AK, he had TT and I flopped a K but the ten came on the turn...and I missed the flush draw on the river. A few hands later I pick up JJ and a short stack pushes with AQ and hits his ace on the river. Suddenly I'm well back in the pack.
Finally, after a lot of tight play and suckouts by shorter stacks, we get four handed and I push with K6o from the button and bust the shortest stack's AK.
A few hands later I pick up AA in the BB and the SB raises. We are almost equal in chips... I decide to take a chance and smooth call (although I guess its a small chance to take!) Flop is AK4 and he checks. I decide to min bet, and he calls. Turn is a K giving me aces full and he checks agian. I min bet again and he raises... I of course call and he jams the blank on the river and I take down the pot and cripple him (he had K6 for trip kings). I bust him on the next hand.
Heads up, he started with a small lead and played aggressively at first pushing ahead... but I started gaining momentum by chipping up a bit and playing small pots and winning a majority of them... I definitely held the better hands heads up. I did bluff him a couple of times at the end to keep my momentum going, and when he was down to about 10 BB's he open pushed with A4 and I woke up with KK. Bam, my third biggest payday ever :) Feels good.

Tourney Troubles Contine...
My tournament troubles continue... I think I've gone 22 multis without cashing now. And the last cash I had was something like $50.
Last night I entered the $52+5 on Bodog, $30+3 on Pacific, $100+9 on Ultimate Bet, and a few other tourneys on Stars. The interesting ones were on UB and Pacific. They both started at 9, and the $30+3 on Pacific gives you 1200 starting chips and ridiculous 10 minute blind levels. I tripled up in the first level with JT, flop came JQK and I got it in against AK and some other hand that was never shown... turn gave me trips... so I chipped up early. I went on a long spell with no cards and pushed in with 4400 UTG (blinds 200/400) with AK and got called by AQ and won. I finally picked up KK a few hands later (blinds 250/500) and UTG opens for 1000. I make it 2500 on the button and he jams. I lose the race against ATo that would have given me twice the average chips with only about 160 players left. ($30k guarantee and we started with about 775). I stole a few pots and then with the blinds 400/800 I am in the BB with JTo. UTG limps, button limps, SB completes and I see a free one with about 4700 behind. Flop is QT9 and I decide to jam after the SB checks. UTG calls instantly (I figured him for a pretty big hand, but really had no choice). He had AQ and won the race after the other two folded and that was that.
On ultimate bet, I lost two key pots early to go from 2500 to 1500. One of them was when I check raised someone with A2 from the SB (board of 9A42), and the river came a 3 and I check called and he showed A5. Finally I pick up AK, I think the blinds are still only 15-30 and I limp UTG planning to re-raise. A few limpers and then the button min-raises, I make it 330 and two players call. The flop is QJT, I bet small and get a caller. The turn is a K, I am checked to and bet half the pot and a guy puts me in with KQ and I (more than) double up. A long time went by and I was up to about 4400 when I finally got a really nice break. I opened with ATo and a smallish stack cold called behind me. The flop was QJ5 and I bet out hoping to take the pot but my opp called. The turn was a K and I bet half of his remaining stack and he pushed with AA and my hand held up to put me over 7k. Again, I got a nice break when I smooth called preflop behind a raiser with KK and then the button jammed for 5k... the blinds must have been 100-200 at this point...the original raiser folded and I called and made quads... This put me in the top 3 and I was feeling quite good...
I treaded water between 11000 and 13000 when I opened with AK and only the BB called. (Blinds probably 150-300). He was a short stack and I missed the flop but he checked so I put him in, he had flopped a jack with AJ and he called and doubled up. I'm down to about 9000 (still 20 spots from the money) when i find QQ and open for 1000 (150/300/ante). A slightly smaller stack re-raises to 2800. Instinctively I pushed... even though the raise amount and the time that he took seemed to signal he had a pretty big hand. When you are running good this guy always has JJ or AK and your hand holds up (or you get lucky against a bigger hand), but he had KK and I lost the race. I was down to about 5 BB's and jammed after a few limpers with 8s9s hoping to have a few callers and get lucky to win a big pot. No such luck as the first limper has AA.
15/30 remains pretty good. I was stuck about $1600 yesterday before turning a small profit... that leaves me up $6k for the month and stuck less than $2k for 15/30 now. I am also finding my shorthanded experience very useful when the tables get short...a lot of times I think they players are very inexperienced.

Monday
Played a couple hours of 15/30 last night...booked a small profit after being stuck $1,000 early on. Then I entered the big Monday tournaments... $150+12 on Stars, Party and Pacific. 0 for 3 again...
Stars - Treaded water and then got down to about 1100... blinds 25/50 and the player to my right makes it 100 in LP. I make it 300 with AK and he makes it 500. I love losing to the min raisers... AK is too big to fold here so I obviously jam and the guy has QQ. I lose the flip.
Party - Did nothing for the first hour and then doubled with AK vs AQ. Guy opens for 150 (25/50) and I jam for 935 and he calls with AQ... not a very good call by him but I'll take it. About five hands later I run top pair into a set and bust the next hand when I move in for 5 BB's.
Pacific - This actually went well... of course, the structure is terrible. I had 5500 when I opened for 1100 on the button with Ac7c (blinds 200/400). I already suspected that the aggressive SB would re-steal... and I was in the mood to take a stand. I called his push and was a huge favorite against 5c6c but he flopped three 6's. I had 450 left and open pushed with 33 and ran into K6 which flopped a flush.
Here is the 15/30 hand of the day. I wish I had 3 bet the turn, but both players in the hand were just so hard to figure out and I could not make out what the turn raise from arturo meant... I always love losing to perfect/perfect.

And the whifffffffffff....
Butchered like 8 big tournaments yesterday. The highlights.
Interpoker $200+10 to the St Kitts event - A misclick cost me 95% of my stack here. I had 3500, up from 2500, when a player min raises to 100 UTG. I re-raised to 325 with AK, only he called, and we took the 667 flop heads up. He checked, I bet hoping to get him off of big paint cards or a middle pair...and he called pretty quickly. The turn was a 9, he checked and I decided to check behind. The river was a blank, and he acted quickly. I thought he checked, and I was going to check, but he jammed, I hit the wrong button and called. He had 98, and I was down to 300. I don't know why he pushed, it was such a bad bet. He can't get paid off by any hand that will call him... anyway, I felt like an idiot. Left with 300, I get AK again, push over top of an EP raise, get called behind, and then the EP player isolates and I can't win against jacks.
Bodog - I was up to 2500+ early from 1000, and in the second hour the following excitement happened : With about 2300, I limped in LP after an UTG limper with 66... blinds 50/100. The BB makes a very smallish re-raise to 280, UTG calls, so I call. Flop is 653, BB bets very small again, UTG pushes for 980, I call, BB folds (?). UTG shows TT, turn T, river 6. Up to 4400. I later opened for 250 UTG with JTs and only the blinds came. A loose opener, but the table was pretty tight. The flop was J23 two clubs, I bet about 600 after the blinds check and the SB jams for 900. He has Ac8c and I lose the "race". What's so funny is this guy makes a big deal how he "had to come along" when clearly the better play is to jam before the action gets to me to pot committ myself. I take another hit when I raise with AK and then jam the raggedy flop into 99 who makes a nice call. The end of me came at 150/300, I had about 2800 and posted the SB. The same player from the Ac8c hand limps in late position and I have a no brainer jam with 55 from the SB. He types in "I'm going to gamble here" or something like that and calls with KQo. NH, buddy. Open limp one off the button with KQ and then call off 70% of your chips. Of course I lost the coin flip and he wins $25,000. (Not kidding, I'm pretty sure he won the tournament.)
Paradise $30 Rebuy. I don't know why I play these rebuys. I never seem to get any chips in the rebuy period, and this was no different. I spent $150 and had like 7000 at the break. I got lucky and busted a smaller stack with 66 against QQ, then I doubled up with AK vs AQ. That finally put me above average and then I got nothing... I had no chips to re-steal with, never had the action folded to me (except for once when I won the blinds with Q3o or some trash hand)... and finally, about 30 spots from the money, an UTG-horrid-really-loose player opens for most of his stack UTG. I am in the SB with A4o. Normally, this would be an easy muck, but this guy has an enormous range, so I jam, he of course calls, I have him just barely covered, he has KT and he doubles up.
Interpoker - 100+10 (Pounds). We started with 2500, and I played poorly and got nothing in the first hour. Blinds 25-50, I find KK, have 1500 and make it 150 in LP. Only the BB calls. The flop is Qxx all diamonds, I have none, I bet and am called on the flop. Turn is a brick, the BB bets out, I jam, he has AA. Nice that when you are running bad, you salivate over getting KK, getting action, and then you run into AA (also, no diamond, lol).
Eurobet - $100+0 - Yes, you read that correctly. No juice in this tournament, AND there is an overlay. Good thing no one reads this blog or else it might not be a secret for long - $20k Guarantee and there were only 127 people. I missed one draw, bluffed off all but 300, and then put it in with bottom pair and got called by overcards that hit.
Party - $200+15 - Up to 2400 early, I see a free flop with 2dTd. Flop is T53 two diamonds, and I manage to call in a three way pot against 55 and AdQd. Nice equity. WTF is the guy in LP just calling with AQ for? I'm down to 1500, blinds 50-100, when I open-limp from the SB with AK. I can't tell you how bad this play normally is, but the BB is just short of psycho-aggressive. He jams (which I expected), I of course call and lose to A8o.
Full Tilt - $200+16 - Normal Full Tilt mode. Blind off to 1500, open for 150 with AsQs, get re-raised...and here is a case where AQ is the nuts compared to what I've been seeing so I jam ...right into AA. Flop a four flush and miss.
Paradise - $300 - Blind down to about 1200...find AA and a couple of limpers for 50. I make it 225, get one caller, flop is KQ9, guy jams for 800. I of course call, he has KQ. I get no counterfeit love and am crippled. I get a miracle double up when I push with bottom pair against a slowplayed KK, but lose with KQ vs A9.
Stars - $200 - Let's review the first hour. I think I folded almost every hand. I opened once with TT and everyone folded! I made one button raise and of course got re-raised. Finally, in the second hour, I opened for 450 on the button with AQ. The BB got frisky and jammed, I called and he had A4 and my hand held up. Up to about 4600. I later opened for 450 with KsQs, got re-raised to 750 (boy do I love my hand now) and check/folded the flop. I feel like I get sooooooooo played in those spots. AQ or AK I am jamming preflop. Somehow I got it up to about 5500 and opened for 600 with A4. Only the BB called... the flop was Axx, he checked, and I decided to check because I thought he was an aggressive player and he might try to take it away from me. On the turn, he lead out for 1000, I called. On the river, a face card came off, putting some gut shot or two pair hands up there and he jams for 4000. I call, he has Q high, and I'm up to 8800. I am now about 300th out of 1300. From there, I lost a small race with A6 against button snow (5c8c). The flop of 679 was real pleasant. My bustout hand is this : An aggressive player min raises from the button (800), I make it 2400 with KJo (in retrospect, I should have had a bigger hand here), the button jams... and I probably make a bad call against his range. Of course he has AA anyway, and he busts me.
Quick 15/30 Update. I'm still stuck about 110 BB's. But this month looks pretty good so far with a $4k profit in about 6200 hands.

Should I have re-raised on the river? I thought about it for awhile and figured my opponent would have raised the turn if I was beat... and on the river I just thought maybe he didn't put me on a queen when I check raised the flop and was making a bad play with a set...

This was a rather entertaining AA hand. Not often there are four limpers to you and you have AA. Notice that I got beat by 4c2c and the person cold called. Although, out of all the bad plays you see, this couldn't have been played THAT badly due to the pot size...

This AA hand is just entertaining because my opponent bet into two players with 7 high on the river. It only has to succeed like 1 in 13 times to be a correct play, but against two players, with the hand played this way, I would say he has about 0% of this river bluff succeeding.

15/30
I always like moving up and running into about a 300 big bet downswing. That's the way it has been with 15/30. I've never really played full ring games above maybe 3/6 or 5/10, so there is a big adjustment here... but I know that I need to eventually play full games in order to move up. (Party doesn't have many 15/30 6 handed games).
I haven't moved back to 10/20 because I want to succeed at this level and believe I can. Some friends have helped me with certain situations, techniques, and I believe most of my Pokertracker stats are in the ballpark. I started off REALLY rough though, down about $9,500 through most of Sunday, but a late comeback there and a nice session yesterday has put me up abut $3,500 from my low point. I really think my downswing was due to running bad more than anything, I can't tell you how many times I had AK or AQ and didn't flop anything. Or when I did flop a pair it was against a set or two pair. Ah well, that's the way it goes when you're running bad.
That's about it for now, I will try to post some interesting 15/30 hands soon.

Weekend Tourneys
This was the first Sunday in about three weeks I could play the big Sunday tourneys, so I went crazy. I ended up buying in on Full Tilt, Party and Bodog, but won satellites for Stars and Paradise. Here are the recaps :
(1) Bodog. Won a coin flip pretty early with AdTd against 99 and was up to about 2000. Ended up playing this hand when I had about 2900. Blinds 150/300. LP opens for 700, he's a big stack... I was new to the table so I had not witnessed his play. SB jams for 1600 total in the SB and I have 99. After giving it some thought, I figured the typical big stack in the cutoff should have a huge range here and I am hoping to be a coinflip or better against the SB, so I jam, the big stack folds AK - or at least he says so - and the SB has KK I flop a live flush draw but miss. I move in for 3 BB's with tilted, suited air from the SB on the next hand and go broke against A7o in the BB. I made the money like 3 straight times in this tourney, then I won it, and I haven't sniffed the money again.
(2) Stars. I didn't last long. Somehow I thought calling in position with KK against a preflop raise was a good idea with deep stacks. The flop came down 987 and the PF raiser lead out, I raised, he took his grand ole time and jammed, and I called. He had 99, and that was the end of me.
(3) Party. I had it up to 2000 early, and then down below 1000. Somehow, I got back to 3000 without getting it all in. Then I got some hands... Blinds 50/100, I open for 300 UTG with KK. Two short stacks shove behind me, one with AK and one with KQ, and my hand holds up so I have 4800. I get KK a while later when the blinds are 75-150, UTG opens for 500, he has 1100 behind, I bet his stack, he calls with AK. The flop is AKx, and the river is an A and I lose to aces full. This one stings, as my stack would have been well above average... I blasted off some chips with middle pairs like 88-TT, opening from early position, getting called behind, and having to check fold the flop (or once I pushed into a short stack who had top pair). Quickly, I was down to about 2000 and the blinds were 100-200. I'm in the BB, and the tight button opens for 500 and I decide to jam from the BB with 74o on a re-steal. He thinks for a long time before calling with KQo and I bust him when I flop a pair. Of course, my table image is shot here, and the very next hand I find 55 in the SB. Everyone folds to me and I limp, and then the BB jams for 2800. A huge overbet, but it really feels like its a coinflip, or even better, he has Ax where x is lower than 5. I ponder my options and probably make a pretty bad call, but it turned out to be good when he flipped up AKo. He spiked a K and I was down to 1200. I eventually pushed in with AQ and found QQ and didn't have any suckout karma. Finished in the 600's I think...
(4) Paradise - Grrr. This one really bothered me. Early on, I limped with QsJs and it was raised behind me, and a few people called so I decided to call and try to hit a big flop or draw. I flopped top two and got it all in with a short stack Q8 and KK and almost tripled up to 4200, putting me top 5 at the time. A few hands later, I limped behind about 4 limpers with 22, the button limps, the blinds come along, and I love the 929 flop. Its checked to me, I check, the button bets and an EP player pushes! It comes to me and I cold call, and the button calls! I jam on the turn card, a 6, and the button calls with JJ, EP has 44! I'm in great shape to have 7800 and be the chip leader, until the 9 rolls off on the river and JJ999 takes the pot. I really like how the button played his jacks.... LOL. Limping behind a truckload of limpers and then trying to go broke on THAT flop. I worked it up to about 5000, by stealing and re-raising here or there (of course I never got a premium pair), and the blinds started getting big. I lost a race with AK vs KJ to a short stack, but managed to get back up to 5000 again. I finally get TT and am delighted to see the short stack to my right push in for 2200 , I push in behind, he turns up K4o and spikes a K. I open-push with Qh5h on the next hand for 4 BB's and get called by AK. I see the Q high flop and get excited, but there is also a J and T on the flop :(
(5) Full Tilt - Chris wrote how he always seems to get an early double up on Full Tilt, well, before I get anything playable I'm usually down to 1200. It was this way again until I got a courtesy double up in the blinds when I called off my stack with A8 against QT. I moved up to about 3800 at one point and was down to 3200 and opened with 77 for 500 (blinds 100/200), I got called in one spot and the flop was Kxx, and I decided to take a stab instead of check/folding like I had been doing all day. AKo wasn't going anywhere though and I was down to 1000. I eventually jammed with Js8s and ran into my buddy Rex's kings. Damnit Rex, I've seen you fold KK preflop before, why not this time?
If you're scoring at home, that's 0 for 5.

Where'd my blog go?
Ok, I erased my previous blog pots on Saturday night after a really bad beginning of playing 15/30 (stuck about 300 big bets in four or five days). I was/am stuck huge, but the blog is back. Enjoy.
